INTRODUCES FIRST-EVER
“CELEBRATION OF THE PERFORMING ARTS” 12-HOUR MARATHON EVENT
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6TH 10AM – 10PM

NEWTOWN, PA (8/20/18) – The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County is please to present on Saturday, October 6th, starting at 10am, their first-ever “Celebration of the Performing Arts”, a twelve-hour marathon, specifically celebrating the county’s inspiring and engaging performing artists. This family-friendly arts celebration event encourages attendees to “camp-out” by bringing blankets and chairs and enjoy the “shows” and specialty food trucks, all offered within the college’s lawns, beautiful sculpture gardens, indoor atrium and the intimate Zlock Center for the Performing Arts, a 330-seat theater Bucks County Community College’s Newtown Campus! Admission is free throughout the day for much of the programming, however the evening jazz and main performance is ticketed. The celebration will offer youth-oriented performances to multi-media productions and installations, to jazz at sunset, and beyond. Key performers include Sharon Katz and the Peace Train, Bethlehem’s Sad Patrick, singer/songwriting duo, Budzynski Studios Youth Dance Group, Bucks County’s Poets JaQuinley Kerr and poet Laureate Katherine Faulk, Music Mountain Theatre Troupe, R&M Music Studios Student Ensemble and The Meredith Beck Irish Music and Dance Trio.
In tandem with the performing arts schedule and throughout the twelve-hour marathon, the A&CC is also offering guided tours with Curator Jennifer Garey of the newly developed BCCC Sculpture Walk. During the sculpture walks, guests will have the opportunity to meet and hear from exhibiting sculptors, while learning more about the classic works on campus along with many newly loaned installations. Curious kids who want to participate in the walks can also be part of an organized Sculpture Scavenger Hunt that offers prizes too!
This event will also highlight unique Bucks County photography and light projection installations, while welcoming plein air painters to set up easels and create original artwork on-site during the event. Additionally, Bucks County visual artist demonstrations have been added to the much-anticipated celebration with participating artists TBA. By featuring a range of artistic genres and media, the A&CC of Bucks County’s Celebration of the Performing Arts will have something for all art-lovers of all ages!
