The Art of Sound Announces their Indie-styled, Unplugged performances featuring female, Jazz vocalists from the Philadelphia Region, Ella Gahnt on October 24th with Bucks County's favorite Jazz Band, The Eric Mintel Quartete. Following Ella and Eric is International Jazz vocalist, Jackie Jones with the Alex Hiele Paris Jazz Combo on November 21st. Ella Gahnt has performed at most of the area’s major venues including the Kimmel Center, The Clef Club of Jazz, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art – “Art After 5” Music Series. This past March, Ella was honored by the City of Philadelphia – Office of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy when she became the recipient of the “2019 Philly Celebrates Jazz Award”.
Some highlights of Jackie Jones career include international performances throughout Europe, including Switzerland, Germany, Russia and Portugal. Jackie is a teaching artist at NJPAC in Newark, NJ and has been a featured artist in the Book, Jazz in Newark. On November 21st, she will be performing some favorite classics from such prolific writers and composers such as Gershwin, Mercer, Rodgers and Hart and Porter. Certainly an evening not to miss!
