New Feathers Inspires Others to Soar!
We have proudly put a feather in our cap when launching in 2017 New Feathers, a professional reading series devoted to sharing and promoting new work by talented, regional playwrights. New Feathers was one of the original, reading series open to the public in the area to experience fresh, brain-teasing, theatrical work. Thanks to our passion and success, various other new-works, playwriting production groups in the vicinity have been uplifted to present their latest work to the public. Theater-enthusiasts have suddenly noticed, readings have become more mainstream, being enjoyed as a cultural and intellectual night out, and now, all the while professional actors, directors and playwrights alike get paid to present new work, venues meet new faces who get exposed to their unique spaces and almost more importantly, creatives get audience feedback on their work in real-time.
For now, New Feathers evaluating the best direction for the next flight, while enjoying supporting these other new works group’s productions. In the meantime, here’s our end of 2018 show’s “sizzle-reel”, highlighting the New Feathers experience, featuring Ken Kassair’s premiere of Naked Call at the James A. Michener Art Museum.
