A nostalgic aroma filled the atmosphere as guests took their last sips of wine and sincerely thanked the featured poets for their personal, literary show at Art of Sound's intimate and applauded, Unplugged series.

“Refreshing, engaging, surprising, wanting more, it’s as if they knew my personal memories...” were some of the leading words and phrases, exchanged that evening as guests pleasantly commented on their new-found experience with poetry. Books were sold and signed, smiles and subtleties were shared, along with similar, relatable stories with what seemed so effortlessly presented in the evenings artful performance.
Laughter was heard as well as sighs, there were topics touched upon that clearly touched - from a witty-looking dog left in a car on a dark night, on to love and death through a dad yelling out for tools in a garage - all tales that captured an essence of a time once felt, passed and never forgotten - these moments reawakened, through summed-up poetic creations that were not only perfectly presented but related and clung to.
At first during the pre-show gathering, guests appeared quiet and curious, not knowing what to expect, afraid to admit that for most, this was in fact, a first experience of its kind for them. I’m delighted to say, those same people concluded the evening with enlightenment, openly stating they wanted more and with newly, signed books in hand.
Thank-you Hayden and Grant for cleverly capturing and sharing the essence of the human experience, while magically re-awaking personal emotions, intimate memories and introducing many Unplugged patrons to your touching art form.
