Local Art-Making Appreciators Gather in "Creating for a Cause", Raising $500.00 for Parkinson's Awareness Month!
NEW HOPE, PA - As wine, creativity and conversation flowed, something good simply happened - a local and proactive, small group bonded further, learned more about one another as well as art, and all the while, the cause they were working towards (which didn't feel like work at all) earned $500.00 in direct donation dollars to Parkinsons.org!
In honor of Parkinson's Awareness Month, these participants created personal, 12x12, 3-dimentional sawdust artworks, inspired and led by New Hope artisan and Parkinson's patient, Cathy Begg.
The class involved a 2-part series where on night one, the therapeutic, sawdust art-creation process designed by Begg was instructed and supported through concept, sketching and hands-on molding. During night two, color theory concepts and designs were further explored and applied through a variety of colorful pigments. Upon completion, each unique piece created by the group was taken home as not only a uniquely-personal, work-of-art but a solid memento, representing community and philanthropy!
By the end of the evening with artworks in hand, it was decided the experience was not only stimulating and relaxing, but other classes for all ages need to follow in Begg's intimate, New Hope borough studio. To start your own art experience in the heart of New Hope, you can register your group of adults or kids by emailing 43canalstudio@gmail.com
This fundraising and awareness effort was made possible by the support of Mk Hammerstein PR and the artist Cathy Begg who effortlessly inspires everyone she comes in communication with!
